Waxbill

Waxbill

One of the famous Cox 'bird' hybrids, this one proves to be quite good. The two-toned pink/white flowers cover the dwarf and compact in early to mid spring. Since the plant will only grow to 2 ft tall in 10 years, it is a good choice for the smaller garden. Early blooming, usually in March. The foliage is somewhat 'bronzy' taking on the leaf characteristics of the parent R. spinuliferum'. This plant was known only as it's parents R. 'Yaku Fairy' x R. spinuliferum for quite a few years. Now it is registered as 'Waxbill'.
