Acer palmatum 'Watnong'

Well, this delicate little lace leaf tree has a few surprises for the maple crowd.  It is proving to be quite cold hardy as well as heat tolerant, making it a hot item for anyone who experiences cold winters or hot summers.  Standing up 6ft in 10 years also makes it incredibly versatile and moveable!  Plant it in a layered landscape or put it in a nice pot and move it around to see where you like it best. 

The colors will not disappoint either, as she bursts into spring with intense red leaves that will fade to pink by late spring and continue fading to green through the summer.  Just when you think she has settled into her skin, she turns deep red for fall before she disrobes for the winter months.  What a fun and unique little tree.  I can't wait to see what you do with her!
