Thuja plicata 'Holly Turner'

Thuja plicata 'Holly Turner'

A broad weeping selection of western red-cedar that has an upright and contorted leader, then desending side branches. One will usually see 6-12 inches of growth per year on this cultivar, and will mostly be outward, resulting in a mounded shaped plant. Over time it can become 8 ft tall and 12 ft wide. It can be pruned to keep smaller, and this can improve the look also. Found by Bill Janssen of Collector's Nursery in Washington state in the 1990's. Hardy to zone 5.
