Sungold

New from Lloyd Newcomb of Snohomish, WA, this rhododendron exhibits gorgeous yellow-orange full trusses against a full and rounded shrub. The foliage is attractive and hold strong onto the plant, making the shrub very handsome. Grows well in full sun here on the coast, but may need some protection in hotter climates. We really like this one, and will be rooting more as time goes on. Hardy to 10 degrees F.

Rare Variety – This variety is difficult to find anywhere due to these reasons

·        Hard to propagate – many cultivars do not root easily from cuttings, but at a reduced rate thus making the plant rare.

·        Hard to find – these cultivars are hard to find in the first place, probably because they are hard to root from cuttings
