Snow Queen
Snow Queen
From July well into the fall the 'Snow Queen' oak leaf hydrangea will delight you with large upright panicles of pure white blossoms. Relatively hard to find, this cultivar is sometimes considered the best of the 'oakleafs'. It is a robust grower, sometimes exceeding 6ft tall and 8ft wide. The large oak shaped leaves are an attractive matte-green that become a showy red-yellow-orange in the late fall before dropping its leaves. If you like the oakleaf hydrangeas, you will certainly love 'Snow Queen'.
This plant is the star of any woodland garden with filtered light, although will do well even in lots of light. The large flowers are great for cutting and drying.
