R. sinogrande
R. sinogrande
With the largest leaves of all of the rhododendrons, R. sinogrande will add a 'tropical' feeling to any garden that can grow it. After 8 years, the leaves will be 12" wide and 3 feet long. The flowers are a cream color with a purple/black throat, but will take 8-10 years to first appear. The leaves and form are so unique and so LARGE! This is definitely a statement plant so give it room to 'Wow' you. Native to the Himalayan range in China, Tibet and upper Burma. Sinogrande has been very difficult to propagate and that is likely the reason they are so difficult to find. We have very few available for purchase each year, so do sign up to be notified is this is on your 'must have' list. We do not pre-sell or 'save' things. The email list is the best way to stay up to date on availability.
