Satsuki azalea 'Johga'
Satsuki azalea 'Johga'
When in full bloom, you cannot see any foliage. That is how terrific this Satsuki azalea is. Also known as ‘Johga’ and coming to the USA from Chugai nursery in Japan in 1938. The white flowers have a red flare and because it is a Satsuki azalea, will often produce some solid pink petals on a few flowers. Because we take cuttings when not in bloom, we are unsure if the flowers will be white, pink, or a mixture. Some even come out very double and a dark and light pink mixture. Always a fun surprise when they bloom. Hardy to zone 6.
