Saffron Meadow

Not related to 'Saffron Queen', other than the 'Saffron' name, this low growing lepidote rhododendron has lovely yellow flowers in loose trusses covering a handsome foliage plant in mid spring. The leaves are somewhat 'fuzzy' with tiny hairs on the leaf margins. This cultivar is valuable as a low, compact grower for a spot close to the front of the border.
