Ruby grass - Melinus nerviglumis

Ruby grass, Melinus nerviglumis is a tender perennial from South Africa, hardy only in zones 9-10. The summer foliage is a soft gray-green color, contrasting to many other garden plants. Then, in late spring and lasting through late summer the pink blooms begin to appear on arching stems. Grown in most areas as an annual, the fall foliage turns a subtle red color. Seed grown. Grows to 2 ft. tall and more wide. Zones 9-10.
