Roy Hudson

Roy Hudson

A cross of R. burmanicum x R. nuttallii by Howard Kerrigan was most likely an attempt to create a R. nuttallii hybrid with more hardiness. We are not sure it is hardier than the species, but it most likely is a bit. The flowers are large, white trumpets with a yellow throat. The leaves are smaller than the typical R. nuttallii plant, but are very dark-green and textured. The flowers have won 'Best of Show' in some ARS chapters in the past. They are more flat faced and very ruffled.

Rare Variety – This variety is difficult to find anywhere due to these reasons

  • These tender varieties are rare because they do not have a wide enough audience due to their lack of hardiness and are overlooked by the big growers.

  • Singing Tree Gardens has made these rare varieties our passion and remain committed to producing them for future generations. Currently we are the only source in the USA for these tender, FRAGRANT plants.
