Red Eye

Everyone who sees this plant in bloom wants it. It is a very unusual color of purple with a reddish eye in the flower. It blooms in late April, and will grow to be 6-8 ft. in 10 years. The ‘red eye’ makes this flower really glow and appear even more purple than those flowers without it. The plant is very vigorous and keeps its foliage for more than 2 years. Can flower well in partial shade, and is hardy to zone 6. One of the very best for purple color.
