Originating at the Slocock Nursery in the UK, in the 1930's, this R. campylocarpum hybrid has been a favorite here in Northern California for generations. The foliage is thick and oblong, making an attractive addition to any landscape. In March, the buds begin to open showing bright pink, but then fade to a buttery cream by the time they are all fully open. There are generally so many flowers, the foliage is completely hidden. Winner of the Award of Garden Merit, and also the First Class Certificate in the mid 1930's.
