R. 'True Blood'
R. 'True Blood'
Exciting and new from Harold Greer of Greer Gardens fame is his new dramatic 'True Blood' rhododendron. The parents are R. 'Black Magic' x R. 'Kilimanjaro', giving this plant huge, almost double flowering blooms that are ruffled and 'packed' into a huge truss! The foliage is shiny and bullate, coming from its parent R. 'Kilimanjaro', one of the parents of R. 'Rubicon'. Our best guess of hardiness is 5 degrees F. We have only a few, so the first ones to see this and order will get one. R. 'True Blood' will no doubt be rocking the rhododendron world for some time.
Rare Variety – This variety is difficult to find anywhere due to these reasons
· Hard to propagate – many cultivars do not root easily from cuttings, but at a reduced rate thus making the plant rare.
· Hard to find – these cultivars are hard to find in the first place, probably because they are hard to root from cuttings
