R. 'Red Licorice'

A new hybrid by Singing Tree Gardens Nursery that has very handsome foliage, shiny and dark green all year. The flowers come out in late April and are scarlet red in trusses of 12-15. The plant grows to 5 ft tall x 6 ft wide in 10 years, and is full and lush. The parents are (R. forestii ssp repens x R. 'Noyo Chief) x R. 'Rubicon'. Hardy to zone 7.
