A FRAGRANT rhododendron species native to the Himalayan mountains in Bhutan and found around 7000 ft in elevation. This member of the R. maddenii group is somewhat tender, hardy to zone 8 and 9. Blooming in late May, the plant will be 4-5 ft tall in 10 years.
