R. 'Grand Recital'

Here is a fabulous rhododendron hybrid from the late Jim Barlup. The plant has very dark-green leaves that hold for at least 2 years. The flowers are large, light yellow with some red speckles in the throat. I believe as the story goes, Jim gave this one away to a friend, as he often did with hybrids he didn't give value to. Then the friend brought it back a few years later to show Jim, and it proved to be a really good one. Jim named it 'Grand Recital', as one of the parents was his 'Recital'. The plant flowers very heavily as you can see from the photo of our plant. We finally have some to sell, and will have more in the future. Hardy to zone 8.
