R. 'Golden Rocket'

New from Singing Tree Gardens Nursery is this lovely yellow flowering rhododendron with big dark-green leaves. With parents of 'Horizon Lakeside' x 'Peach Charm', this one is a winner. A strong grower up to 6 ft tall in 10 years, with a handsome structure. The full and rounded flower clusters are a rich yellow with red nectary pouches inside. Blooming starts in late May or early June so you can pick a purple rhododendron to plant with it for a nice show. An added bonus of rich dark red new leaves decorate after blooming. The leaves shade to green in summer. Hardy to zone 7. As we are the exclusive source of this new rhododendron, it is considered a Rare variety. Also, because it is difficult to root, it will always be rare.
