R. fortunei 'Emma and May'

R. fortunei 'Emma and May'

Here you go all of you 'Hardy and Fragrant' rhododendron lovers. This named form of Rhododendron fortunei has many desirable attributes. The foliage by itself is enough to want it in your garden. Coppery, blue-green leaves are very attractive when new, then they age to an even more blue-green sheen. The soft pink flowers are very FRAGRANT, and they will turn white over the blooming period. The plant will be 5-6 ft tall in 10 years, and is compact, adding to its beauty. The flowers are not as large as the famous 'Loderi King George', but are every bit as FRAGRANT! The plant was named for two women that helped women get the right to vote in Washington State. Hardy to -10 deg. F.

Rare Variety – This variety is difficult to find anywhere due to these reasons
·        Hard to propagate – many cultivars do not root easily from cuttings, but at a reduced rate thus making the plant rare.
·        Hard to find – these cultivars are hard to find in the first place, probably because they are hard to root from cuttings
