R. fastigiatum
R. fastigiatum
R. fastigiatum with it small stature and tiny leaves is often sold as R. impeditum. We were introduced to the real impeditum a few years ago, but lost it. Now we grow R. fastigitum in its place. Both are small growers with blue/purple flowers. This species is super hardy, to -15 deg. F. Sharp drainage is very important for this small species to thrive. Adding gravel to the planting mix is a good idea. Flowering occurs in April to May. This plant will only be 12-18 inches high in 10 years
