I remember when I first saw this scrumptious rhododendron hybrid, it was the thickness of the petals that impressed me most. Because of this, the flowers last longer, and are less effected by rain. Hybridized by Halfdan Lem, the famous rhododendron hybridizer who created such highly rated plants as 'Lem's Cameo', 'Pink Walloper', 'Lem's Monarch', 'Isabel Pierce', and many more. The cross is 'J.H. van Nes x 'Loderi King George'. Hardy to zone 6b.
