R. 'Chou Chou'

This new and fabulous rhododendron was created by Marc Colombel of France, who has been working with tetraploid rhododendron parents to produce new plants with more chromosomes. The results are good. R. 'Chou Chou', pronounced like 'shoe shoe',  has rounded leaves that form a most perfect plant in the garden that is dense and compact. One can expect it to be 4 ft tall and wide in 10 years. The flowers are very delicate with soft pastel shades. We are very impressed with the plant and flower. Bloom time is in late April into early May. Hardy to zone 7.
