R. 'Carol's Candy'
R. 'Carol's Candy'
New from the master hybridizer Jim Barlup comes this spectacular rhododendron. The cross of R. 'Lem's Tangerine' x R. 'Tia' has resulted in this unusual colored flower of coral-orange and white. We think it will be super popular as they get out to gardeners. The plant has excellent foliage and will be 5 ft tall and wide in 10 years. We are not sure of the hardiness, but with these parents we would guess it will be hardy to zone 7.
Rare Variety – This variety is difficult to find anywhere due to these reasons
-
Hard to propagate – many cultivars do not root from cuttings and must be duplicated by grafting, which is a more difficult process. Some will root from cuttings, but at a reduced rate thus making the plant rare.
-
Hard to find – these cultivars are hard to find in the first place, then will perhaps be hard to root from cuttings
