R. caliphyllum

Rhododendron caliphyllum is a distinctive and elegant evergreen species rhododendron native to the mountainous forests of western China. Admired for its handsome medium green leaves and graceful floral display, it forms a broad, rounded shrub or small tree, typically reaching5-8 feet tall with age. A member if the R. maddenii family of tender FRAGRANT rhododendrons, R. caliphyllum flower in late May or early June. The flowers are white with yellow in the throat. The perfumed flowers are most noticed on warm, still days. 

Best grown in partial shade with protection from intense afternoon sun, Rhododendron caliphyllum thrives in cool, moist, acidic soils rich in organic matter and excellent drainage.
