R. augustinii 'Royston Form'

R. augustinii 'Royston Form'

Originating in the Royston Nursery located on Vancouver Island, B.C. this form of Rhododendron augustinii is one of the best forms. Grown and selected by the famous plants women Mary Greig so you know it has to be good. The light blue flowers have red spotting in the throat along with red stamens. The foliage is better than most of this species being quite a good dark-green color and making a very full and lush plant. The flowering is in April.

Rare Variety – This variety is difficult to find anywhere due to these reasons
·       Hard to propagate – many cultivars do not root easily from cuttings, but at a reduced rate thus making the plant rare.
·       Hard to find – these cultivars are hard to find in the first place, probably because they are hard to root from cuttings
