R. augustinii 'Royal Purple'

Named by a rhododendron grower in Oregon, this vibrant and rich purple flowering selection of the species R. augustinii is a favorite.  The plant grows large, 10-12 ft tall and wide over time. Flowering is in April and this selection is hardy to zone 7. The name is not legitimate, as it is not registered.
