Commonly known as the Tibetan cowslip or giant cowslip. This tall growing primrose has red, orange and simetimes yellow scented flowers. Blooming starts in July and continues into August. Thrives in dampish soil and can be happy in shade or partial sun. Happy next to ponds or streams.  Can grow up to 4 ft tall and wide. Hardy to zone 3.
