Pieris japonica 'Variegata'
Pieris japonica 'Variegata'
This very handsome shrub has some of the brightest leaves of any evergreen shrub. The white variegation is fairly wide on each leaf, brightening the plant. The contrast of this plant to any dark green plants around it will really make it 'pop' in the landscape. In mid spring, the plant covers itself with beautiful, drooping clusters of white flowers, looking like it was snowed upon. When the new leaves emerge in late spring, there is a pink tinge to each leaf, adding to the beauty. In 10 years this plant will be 4-5 ft tall and wide. Hardy to zone 6 and one of the most deer-proof of any landscape plant.
