Picea orientalis 'Early Gold'

There are a few of these bright yellow spring growth forms of Oriental spruce, but this one's claim to fame is that the brilliant yellow color lasts longer than other cultivars. Plant as a specimen where it can take center stage, and you will not be disappointed. The tree, found by the John Vermuelen Nursery in New Jersey, will make a narrow pyramid 6 ft tall and 4 ft wide in 10 years time. In summer, the bright new growth turns green.
