Osmanthus x fortunei 'San Jose'
Osmanthus x fortunei 'San Jose'
Once you have experienced the wonderful apricot fragrance of this excellent evergreen shrub, you will want another. One Osmanthus 'San Jose' shrub will perfume your entire garden during the flowering time, October to December. A good choice for screening, and better than boxwood with the blight attacking that plant in the Pacific Northwest. The foliage has toothed margins, similar to a holly, and will be dense on the plant, making it a barrier when needed. The flowers are cream-colored with a hint of orange. Can be sheered to promote a hedge look. Hardy to zone 8.
