Noyo Dream

One of our favorite smaller growers. Perfect habit and exquisite foliage carry this plant through the year. Delicate light pink flowers with a darker pink picotee edge create a very attractive quality.  The bloom time can really vary as early as mid January to mid March.  Originally created by Bill Moyles of California when he crossed R. degronianum ssp yakushimanum with the rhododendron species arboreum. The resulting seedlings were all so very attractive, many were named, but have remained obscure exept a few, like 'Noyo Dream'. We consider this one to be among our Premium varieties as it has so many high ranking qualities. A must for the collector! 

In late spring and through summer the foliage is covered with a dusting of silver-gray indumentum, thought to be a natural insect proofing.
