R. campylogynum 'Myrtilloides Group'
A very dwarf rhododendron species native to Yunnan, Southeast Tibet, North India, & Upper Myanmar. Only hardy for zones 8-9. The leaves are 1/4" long, and the flowers are small mauve-pink or purple thimbles held on thin stalks above the foliage. A great plant for the rockery or other well drained part of the garden. Old plants are still only 4"-6" tall and will spread to 18" wide in time. Excellent choice for Bonsai VERY RARE!
Rare Variety – This variety is difficult to find anywhere due to these reasons
· Hard to propagate – many cultivars do not root easily from cuttings, but at a reduced rate thus making the plant rare.
· Hard to find – these cultivars are hard to find in the first place, probably because they are hard to root from cuttings
