March Seedling
March Seedling
'March Seedling' isn't a memorable name, but the plant certainly is. Growing full and lush, but staying short with a vigorous spreading habit, this plant will begin to show color by early December. The flowers last all winter, even if covered by snow. This cultivar will establish and be relatively drought tolerant, although will need regular weekly watering until established. Can take full sun and is deer resistant. Plant in well drained soil with lots of organic matter to retain moisture. Mulching is a good idea as well. Small amounts of fertilizer are helpful in early spring and late fall. Excellent in mass plantings with other heaths and heather. A rock garden favorite.
