'LSU Purple' Fig Tree

We decided to grow some of these dark skinned fig trees, as they are reported to be so sought after. This medium size tree, 8 to 15 feet tall, will produce very dark skinned figs that have vibrant red interior flesh that is like sweet fig jelly when ripe. Ripening occurs in late summer to early fall, and the fruiting can only take 2 years after planting. Hardy in zones 7-10 and will suited for a variety of climates with mild winters. Self-pollinating variety.
