Lampranthus sp. 'Pink Kaboom'

Lampranthus sp. 'Pink Kaboom'

Bright florescent pink flowers cover this mounding succulent from South Africa in spring and summer. This one will grow in poor quality clay soil, and doesn't need fertilizing. Since it is a succulent, water sparingly for happy plants. Grows well in coastal areas and can tolerate salt or salty wind and fog. Always let the top layer of soil dry out before watering and make sure there is full sun growing conditions. Hardy to zones 8-11. The name "Lampranthus" means 'shining flowers', and this is very true. When in full bloom, sunglasses may be required.
