Jack H. Brummage
Jack H. Brummage
A tough, reliable winter-blooming heather, Erica × darleyensis 'Jack Brummage' brings welcome color to the garden when little else is in flower. From midwinter into early spring, it produces masses of small, urn-shaped blossoms in soft lavender-pink tones, creating a gentle haze of color above its evergreen foliage.
The fine, needle-like leaves form a dense, low-growing mound that stays attractive year-round, often taking on subtle bronzy hues in colder weather. Its compact habit makes it ideal for edging, rock gardens, slopes, or mass plantings where it can form a colorful groundcover.
Exceptionally hardy and adaptable, ‘Jack Brummage’ thrives in full sun to light shade and prefers well-drained, acidic soils. Once established, it is drought-tolerant and low maintenance, requiring only occasional light pruning after flowering to maintain shape and encourage fresh growth.
