Iris 'Purple Sensation'

Created in the Netherlands, this spectacular dark-purple iris has a contrasting splash of yellow in the throat, adding interest. Planting in groups is recommended, as larger splashes of the purple color will stand out. After blooming in the spring, the leaves will begin to yellow and die back in late summer as the plant slips into dormancy. These iris will rest for a few months, then begin to start the next growing cycle. The blooms are around 2 feet high and are sweetly fragrant. This one makes a good cut flower, being 4"-5" wide. Hardy to zone 4.
