Hydrangea macrophylla 'You&Me Miss Saori'

Introduced into the USA as Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Miss Saori’, the plant’s actual name is ‘You&Me Miss Saori’ and was bred by Mr. Ryoji Irie from Japan. He named this plant after his wife Saori.

‘You&Me Miss Saori’ has double flowers with a white center and bright pink edges. The flowers are a nice contrast to the dark leaves that turn burgundy in spring and fall. This variety flowers on annual wood. In 2014, ‘You&Me Miss Saori’ won the title of 'Plant of the Year' at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in the UK.

 In China, plant breeders' rights have been granted to Hydrangea macrophylla ‘You&Me Miss Saori’. BV presented the Chinese certificate to Satoki Matsui from Plant Network. According to Mr Yu, ‘You&Me Miss Saori’ is the first Hydrangea variety to be accepted for plant breeder's rights in China.

This hydrangea grows compact, 3-4 ft tall and wide, and produces flowers on new wood. Hardy to zone 5.
