Hydrangea macrophylla - 'Red Sensation'

Unusual in the hydrangea world, this new patented red flowering hydrangea is truly a 'sensation'. The large, mophead flowers of light to medium red cover the plant on strong burgundy-red stems, making a fabulous show during summer and into fall. A rebloomer makes this one even more special, giving you color for a longer period of time. No pruning during the growing season to keep 'Red Sensation' tidy, it grows compact on its own. Great in containers on the deck, or in the shrub border on its own, or in mass plantings. Hydrangeas are not drought tolerant, and 'hydra' in its name is referring to its love of water.
