Helleborus x hybridus Winter Jewells series 'Sun Flare'

Another fabulous Helleborus hybrid by Northwest Gardens Nursery in Eugene, Oregon. The flowers on 'Sun Flare' have white petals that are edged in bright rose pink with a showy yellow flare in the middle of each petal. Very double flower. One of the best picotee edged double Hellebore. Yellow stamens in front of a  yellow/green glow in the center add an additional color for contrast and attractiveness.  Prefers to grow in partial shade where the flowers appear in late winter on sturdy stalks and last for more than a month. It is so wonderful to have dramatic colors at this time of year when little else is showing color. The plants are so easy to grow, are not bothered by deer, and are long lived. This disease and pest resistant evergreen is attractive year-round. A great addition to any garden, and will always surprise you in mid to late winter with its floral display. Does well even in poor soil, heat, humidity, cold and even drought.
