Helleborus 'Pacific Frost'
Helleborus 'Pacific Frost'
This new hellebore has new growth in the spring that is very textured with a heavy frosting of white, giving it a variegated look. As with the species argutifolius, the leaves have a soft spiny edge texture. The plant is vigorous, and will grow wider than tall. The flowers are ivory in color and are produced in masses in late winter and early spring. Evergreen and hardy to zone 6a. Note: the frosty variegation is on the new growth only, and goes away after the leaves have matured.
