Hedychium 'Tahitian Flame'

Here is another FRAGRANT tropical flowering ginger lily that also has green and white variegated foliage.  This plant will add a tropical flavor to your garden. Evergreen in mild climates, but deciduous in cooler areas. Hardy to zone 7. A relitively hardy ginger, going to zone 8, and flowering midsummer through fall. The plant will grow up to 5-6 ft tall and about 3 ft wide. In zone 8 the plant will be a perennial, dropping its leaves in late fall and re-leafing out in spring. In cold climates the plant can be kept in a large pot and overwinter indoors under glass. Easy to grow and versatile, this hardy Ginger Lily creates a wonderful architectural accent forboth containers and garrdens.
