Hazel Smith

Sequoiadendron giganteum 'Hazel Smith' was developed to be a giant redwood with superior cold hardiness, exceptional blue color, and good vigor. The tree is more open as a young tree, but will tighten with age. This cultivar was named in honor of Hazel Smith; she and her husband, Don Smith were co-owners Watnong Nurseries, Morris Plains, New Jersey. The tree will grow in zone 5.
