Calluna vulgaris 'Firefly' is truly an incredible heather. The deep mauve flowers appear on the plant from August to October, but that is not the best show this plant puts on by a long shot! As autumn becomes winter, the foliage turns from a terracotta color to a brick red. It looks like a red flowering plant at first glance, and stays that way until spring, when the folilage begins to change back to its summer color. Our most popular heather! Winner of the Award of Garden Merit trophy. Full sun or bright light is required to obtain the deep red color.
