Erica carnea 'Wentwood Red'

Erica carnea 'Wentwood Red'

Outstanding low growing heath with a different color. This low grower will only be 4-6 inches tall, but will make a 2-3 ft wide specimen in less than 10 years. The flowers appear in late July and go through August, start out pink, but darken to a dark magenta red. The foliage is very dark through the spring and summer, and shades to a very dark bronze-green in winter. Found by Anne Parris at her home in Wales and named after a nearby wood.
