Dove Tree - Davidia involucrata var. vilmoriniana

Davidia involucrata, var. vilmoriniana  is the best form of the famous Dove Tree, Handkerchief Tree, or Ghost Tree. The medium sized deciduous tree is native to parts of Sichuan and Yunnan China and we are very fortunate to be able to offer it. 

The white bracts suggest white doves nesting among the large green leaves. Protect this tree for the first few years. The Dove Tree becomes hardier with age. Considered a small tree, you can expect this tree to be 20-60 ft tall in 10 years, depending on the climate. The flowering occurs in late spring. Grows best in well-drained soil. This tree prefers light shade in warmer climates.
