Cornus x florida 'Eddie's White Wonder'

Cornus x florida 'Eddie's White Wonder'

Eddie was wise to have crossed the native West Coast dogwood, Cornus nuttallii, with Cornus florida fhe East Coast dogwood. The results are quite fabulous. The widely spreading tree becomes covered with large, white, rounded bracts that look like flowers, but last and last, sometimes for more than a month in May and June. The green foliage turns a brilliant red color in the fall. The red strawberry-like fruits last until Christmas and attract songbirds. Deciduous. Hardy to zone 6.
