Clerodendron trichotomum - Harlequin Glorybower

Commonly known as the Harlequin Glorybower and also Peanut Butter Tree. This broadleaf deciduous tree is native to Eastern China and Japan. In late summer the sparkly white flowers appear with showy red calyxes and are lightly fragrant. In the fall, bright blue berries appear where the flowers were. Best in full sun or part shade. May freeze back in hard winters, but will resprout. Somewhat rare in the trade. Hardy to zone 7.
