Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Baby Blue'

Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Baby Blue'

A sawara cypress that is grown for its soft, bright silver-blue foliage that has white stomates, giving it brightness. The pyramidal form is useful for contrasting to the more common 'mounding' forms in a garden.  Will grow to 4-5 ft tall in 10 years. The similar conifer cultivar 'Baby Blue Ice' was found on this plant by nurseryman Larry Stanley of Stanley & Sons Nursery in Oregon. 'Baby Blue' is a plant from Australia. Hardy to USDA zone 5.
