Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Spiralis'
Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Spiralis'
This narrow form of Hinoki cypress can be wild looking, sending out arms this way and that. Keeping wispy growth pruned off is the secret to keeping it looking cool. Slow growing makes it a good contender for a decorative container on the deck. Plant is well drained barky soil to keep it happy. The twisty, spiraling branches make each an every specimen different from each other. The small one in the 3rd photo is just 3 years old. It will start to stack up now.
