Camellia x vernalis 'Yuletide'

Often called the 'Christmas Camellia', 'Yuletide' puts on a fantastic display around the Christmas holidays. The rich red flowers have bright golden stamens, making a nice contrast and blooming for several months. When in full bloom, it looks like a fireworks display! This one prefers some shade to be happy, and sheltered from cold winter winds. Also, it should be protected from early morning sun for it to really thrive. Works well for screening and hedges, and will be happy in a large container. Prune lightly after blooming to keep it nicely shaped. Will be 7-8 ft tall in 10 years, and is hardy to zone 7.
